![]() They like things orderly and their routine consistent and stable. They are unlikely to climb on curtains, jump on the dining room table, or make a mess around the house. They prefer their environments peaceful and serene, and they are known for their exceptional manners and elegance. They are extremely bonded to their family members and will dote on them lovingly. The Persian cat is known for its gentle, kind-hearted, loyal demeanor. They need their alone time to rest, think, and play. That said, they don’t especially like to be carried or held in laps for long periods. They also bond closely with their families and will remain loyal to the end. They are easy and quick to train, recalling what they’ve learned at a moment’s notice. ISTJs are known for their ability to quickly recall facts and details, and the British shorthair also has this unique ability. Something in their stately demeanor echoes back to the Victorian era, where they were once the only pedigreed cats available. Obviously this article is mainly for fun and can’t be taken too seriously, but I still think there are some remarkable qualities that these cats and types have in common! I hope you enjoy! I’ve never owned a cat so I was hesitant to do this, but I finally buckled down and researched cats as well as spoke with cat owners to find out what kind of cats may have similar personalities to different Myers-Briggs® types. Since then I’ve gotten repeated requests to write a cat breed article. It has been recognized as a separate cat breed since 1906.Almost two years ago I wrote an article about which dog breed matches your personality type. The American Shorthair is one of these cats that “migrated” from England to America as “simple” house cats. So people took cats with them to keep these rodents in check. They ate people’s rations and spread disease. There were cats on board those ships too! How come? Food stores (on board as well as in the new land) were vulnerable to mice, rats and other rodents. It wasn’t just humans that traveled across the Atlantic Ocean after the discovery of America. As they used to be hunters, they have strong, muscular bodies, are agile and have good stamina. The American Shorthair is a medium to large cat with an open, cute face and large eyes. But there’s one thing this cat doesn’t like: being picked up. The American Shorthair isn’t a shy cat that will hide from strangers. They’re intelligent and love playing with toys but don’t constantly need new challenges like other cats. They talk (meow) a little but not too much. They’re not clingy but also not reserved or aloof. They’re not especially active but not particularly lazy either. They're ideal for anyone who has never had a cat before. The American Shorthair has a calm, friendly and very well-balanced character.
